Oil..

Post by Andy_Cat »

I've done searches on other sites and i'm more confused than when i started..
Basically i'm going to change the oil in my Cat and was wondering what oil would best suit MY car?!?
Its done 90k and is fairly basic at the moment in terms of modifications
Back box and dump valve, will soon have a full system when i decide on one.
The car will be used for everyday driving and up the strip and track hopefully

I've seen people recommend Motul, Mobil 1, Millers and Silkolene Pro.
I'm swayed towards Mobil 1 15w50 but just wanted some advice really

Motul 300V 15/50 would be my recommendation
or
Millers CFS 10/60

Speak to Alyn at ASP Trading for a proper informed rec though :)

Any of the top oils will be suitable, what grade do subaru recommend?

I am currently using Ford's own 5w40 in my 200 (which is Castrol fully synth) but thinking of switching to Halfords 5w50 Motorsport once i get some tested to see what its like

would never use 5w oil in a pre2000 year impreza unless you drive like my wife.............................

depends on how YOU use your car to a degree as well as being within spec for your engine, but 10w40, 10w60 or 15w50 are sound choices dependant on use and Motul or Millers................
