LOL !!!

It allows it to be turbo'd whilst still having a bonnet/bulkhead/interior/whatever else would have to be removed for them to live in the engine compartment !!!

Basically its the only place left for them to go, no-one would put them there through choice, the pipework must weigh a ton, cost a fortune, bring all sorts of other problems to bear and make the response quite poor off boost, even with 2.5litres driving each turbo they are still producing 400bhp each so must be a reasonable size - circa GT2835 or similar.

Weird...I am guessing that there is some protection over where they are. Cant see them keeping clean if not !!!!!

Suppose there wont be much back pressure though !!

I dont think their is an advantage other than the obvious 300bhp!! Its just the only place they could fit them as BMW designed it with all the space utilised.

They clame the lag is minimal and that the turbos are very responsive..

Also another fact! It apparantely took them 4 months to crack the Beemers ECU

Dont need backpressure for a turbo car, the turbo provides the backpressure
