my GTR...

Post by tigger »

where do I start!....

ok, after having my GTiR for a few years, it was time to move on to something a bit more pokier in the engine department. so after a couple of friends had been out and bought R33 GTR's, I thought, oooh, get me one of them! :) when I started looking, I also looked at a Supra, Evo and Scooby. counted out the supra as I just didnt like it after driving one. The Evo I had already had fun in with an Evo 4RS, so wanted something different........and well the scooby, there were just to damn many of them (sorry scooby owners!)...

at the time I used Hiteq in Wigan and they found me 2 GTR's to have a look at. one had been modded fairly lightly and one was bog standard. after driving both I decided on the boggo standard one :)

went to pick it up a few weeks later only to find that someone had screw drivered the rear GTR logo off and the car was overheating, suspected head gasket gone. so at a knockdown price I still bought it...silly me.

after some work at Abbey Motorsport she was back on the road. since then the car has been driven with care (yeah right) around some drag srtips and race tracks in europe and the uk. I have sprint raced her at Goodwood and had fun at trackdays at Silverstone, Brands and loads of other places.

there have been times when I have wished the car a long fall off a high cliff and other times when I have totally been besotted....:)

when I work out how to post pics I will put pics up of the beginning and how she looks today...along with some specs when I work out what I have actually put on her to date!!

lisa, set youself up a free photobucket account. ( http://www.photobucket.com )

resize the pikkies if you wish ( although this forum does resize them atuomatically )

once uploaded you will see 3 options underneath the picture

left click on the link and it will "copy" it.

then come on here and "right click" to "paste" it.

once submited, it will show the picture on here for all to see!!

this is pretty much near the start of ownership, I had Interspeed alloys on at this point with Dunlop semi's. the pic is as llandow in south wales at a track day. which was brilliant fun albeit the track is a tad on the small side.

I did make the mistake of putting 19's on, quickly rectified that error though! although the big brakes were a must!

this is the car pretty much as she is at the moment, on 18's again (ultralites) and with Toyo 888's. also have a high wing extension on the rear to hopefully give some more downforce!

there are some more pics to come of how she will look when back from getting graphics for time attack, I dont think she will be to most tastes!

I did have some more in depth ones of the engine but it appears the computer took them with it when it died last year!

ok, found one of the engine, but this is as it was the other month. I now have a newer turbo on the engine, so will get a shot of that shortly.

I had a T78 single turbo with manifold, external pipe and Trust shield over the rear housing. I will finish my list off in a mo and put that on rather than ramble!

Another superb R33 :o
Love the details on your car. Spoiler extension, vented bonnet, understated wheels and the rear cage. Hard as nails......a proper GTR :D

Graphics are always tricky and not loved by the Skyline 'massive'. I should know, I tried a Blitz style on mine and it looked bloody awful, but maybe I'll be tempted again. Sure would if I was going in for Time Attack.

If you haven't already sorted it out, you could try Simon @ SJS Designs. He already does a lot of the Time Attack cars. He is one of our traders on here so just keep hitting F5 until his ad comes up :thumb:
