Dear god NO !!!

A photoshop of Trev's shaven Bobby Danglers is possibly too much to bear, it could take me a month to summon up courage to leave the house and then I'd miss round one !!!

Dan,

You do make me laugh fella, I am just pleased that I have a good bunch of guys supporting me here, it definately gives your a morale boost !!!

Okey dokey,

Heres just a few shots from my phone..

On the ramps in a good state of dismemberment already...

Image
Image

...you can see the front wings have been removed ready for repair....

Image
Image

...as has the front splitter - in fact anyone who used to think the car was orange in its original paint scheme before last season can certainly see just how much more vivd the new colour is from the bit missed off from where the splitter was bonded on before !!!

Image

This gives an idea of just how much extra track (and how low offset wheels - these are 8.5J Zero offset !!) you can run with flared wheelarches !!!

Image

Engine is out now, which will allow better tidying up of the engine bay...

Image
Image
Image

You can also see the downsides to having such a low car when you see the amount of damage it collects on the chassis rails...

Image

Interior is completely out and the rollcage is gone ready for the new one !!

Image

Monday I finished work at 9.30 and got home at 10.40, tuesday I finished at 6.30 but got home at 8.45 but today we finished at 3.00 and managed to get down to GBH for 4.30 and helped out while the guys finished a couple of customers cars, then at 5.30 we were allowed to get playing with the Orange !!! Dan took the door cards, speakers and other bits off, and set about tracing a couple of wires for me....

Image

I decided to get the DeWalt out for some fun !!!!

Image

Then Geoff tempted me with the air hacksaw and I was in heaven !!!!!

Image

Yes !!! That did used to be my inner quarter panel, which is now flush with the wheelarch and almost level with the window line !!! To put it in perspective - anything in the rear of the car that is now silver means something has been removed as I spray painted the whole interior matt black for last season !! Dan also made a start on some sound deadening that was missed last time, and sound deadening thats INSIDE the rear quarters you wouldnt normally get too :D :D

All this naughtiness and pent up aggression has basically allowed me to remove over 10kgs in 3 hours work !!! Theres still the innards of the doors, and a solution to find for the windows so I can remove all the motors etc and the drivers side and rear of the quarters to do , plus the boot floor is going allong with the last remnants of the boot locking and support. Then when it comes back from the rollcage man it will get the inside of the boot hatch cut out as well as some other bits !!!

Woooohooo !!!

:D :D :D :D

That is in progress at the moment - you will also notice that the rear speakers, shelfves, and supports are now gone !!!

Last season when I was suffering from my nerves somewhat I found the stereo - which is a lightweight MP3 only player - to be quite helpful in relaxing me, or geeing me up depending on my mood !!!

This year I am doing away with it, but I may have to just play stuff on my phone through headphones if I need help this year !!!

The white Lexus is very famous !!

Its the TDI 2JZ twin turbo converted one with HKS GT2835 top mounts and lots of other goodies. Its owned by a really nice fella called Matt and I was lucky enough to be the first person to drift it at The Pod and have done so a few times - its one of my 3 favourite drift cars - even though its not fully drift spec yet !!!

Well,

Got down the unit a bit late tonight, but fortunately Geoff was there ready and waiting, with news that "It must be done tonight" as it goes to the rollcage wizard tomorrow !!!

Sooooooo one air hacksaw later and the drivers side quarter is lighter like the one above, I also got the holesaws out again and gave it the full swiss cheese. I then spent firkin ages chipping off some sound deadening that might have been in the rollcage mans way on the rear arches - pretty much all the rest had gone last year !!! I then set about removing a load or wiring that redundant in the rear - wipers, washer jet, heated window, aerial, power for electric aerial and tons of other bits n bobs.

Geoff had already removed the headlining and some other stuff and we have worked out a couple of ways to sort out some niggly bits which I will show you when they are done.

Today - daytime - whilst I was at work Bob has completely stripped my engine, ready for the HKS goodies and so on, and to be honest its all going rather well, although thats bound to be the nail in the coffin !!!

I was too tired to get any pics at 11pm when we finished clearing up the never ending pieces of soundmat and metal holes !!!
