my humble little renault

Post by markeyturbo »

wont bore you all... but here is a brief summary of my orange pocket rocket 8)

got my turbo in aug 2005 after selling 'the chavmobile' for a ludacris sum of money...

here are a few pics from just after i got it

ran about for about a year like that, was rolling roaded at 185bhp when i got it, and 202bhp after a set up

here is the obligatory engine out shot.. after it dropped a valve and damaged a piston :(

Image

then the rust started to take over, so it was time for a restoration, with a bit of a twist...

to cut a long story short.. it now looks like it does below

i have some plans, mainly further engine upgrades, starting with fitting an uprated cam that i've been meaning to do for a long time..

hope to see some of you at the pod, or snetterton soon

just remember not to underestimate the 5 at 27psi :-D :-D :-D

I think that is a great little car and the work that has gone into it is first class, well done. Nearly 2 bar :o Bloody hell............bit different to my 14 or so :D

Make sure you get along to one of the meets when you can, I'd love to see this in the flesh.

:D

oh yeah, i forgot to remind that its a 1397cc engine, 8v pushrod

i want to track it, but its usually down to the car to decide whether it wants to or not... usually it has a hissy fit as soon as i even think about spirited driving

Nice car you have there, and a lot of work to boot :)

I have a great admiration for these little rockets, that I gained when I had an Uno Turbo. It is a shame there are not more 5GT's about, but they do appear to like lampposts; when in the wrong hands. My uncle had one when I was little and I bent the door, and wing, up due to not holding onto the door when it was very windy

Can not wait to see it in the flesh :-D
