All, the below should clarify why I have a D1GP sunvisor on my MINI.

As dynamix said, myself and Sleephead are big D1 fans and have a large number of the JDM Option DVD's. We have been to the D1GP at Silverstone since they started it two years ago. Last year we thought it would be great if we could get hold of the sunvisor for our cars to help spread the word when going to club meets. I did a bit of hunting around and found someone from hongkong that sold it. Once me and Sleepyhead got them fitted two of our friends also wanted it. So they ended up getting it as well and fitting to RX8 and FTO.

Since then Sleepy has been getting his MX5 tuned for drifting and been to a practice. Since he can't really carry much in his car we are going to use my MINI as a support car. Your be surprised how much stuff you can get in a MINI with the back seats out. Since we both have the D1GP sunvisor it looks good with us arriving together in convoy.

Ok, ok enough everybody

I'm sure there were a few of us watching the video expecting to see a trackday video of sorts, it was titled 'Power lap....' after all

Now that an explanation has been offered about no overtaking and the rest, it all makes sense. I mentioned the understeer because my wifes old Cooper did that too, I apologise if that is not the case in your car and I also apologise if your nose has been put out of joint :thumb:

I did use to have a cooper model before the S and yes that did understeer.

When I got my S BMW did a good move and added a LSD as an option. With this fitted and some good tyres (not the rubbish runflats) this MINI is much better around a track. :-D

Out of interest, what tyres are you using on there?

Well, I've had Avon ZZ3's, Toyo T1-R and now I have Goodyear Eagle F1's.

Yeah..guess it's partly my fault for labelling it as "Power lap" but I thought it was apt as he had a good portion of it driving abit faster than the 40-50mph cruise around speed :P

I admit I was too harsh,

But I personally dont agree with the sunstrip idea as it just dilutes what people think it is - in other words that FWD shopping cars are able/eligible/some how properly involved with the sport.

Indeed.

However - you show me a FWD car accelerating round a 3gear corner while maintaining a drift without the use of the handbrake and I will consider using one !!!
