STi 450 2.5
MAPPING UPDATE
It has now been fully mapped to take advantage of the extra fuel pressure. now set to push 3.8 bar static fuel pressure and boost upped at various points in the range as it was not hitting boost targets unless really cold.
This has now been well and truly fixed and it flys up to just under 1.5 bar quite easily at around 3200 in each gear. With 1 bar of boost available at 2500 ish.
We also altered caam timing to help with the spool up of the turbo and it had an immediate effect on reducing lag. I think we added about 11 degree of advance here.
Ignition advance was also able to be advanced by a few degrees at various points in the map without det problems running on Tesco 99 without octane booster.
I will be doing a comparative dyno run today to overlay against the before curves above and for the sake of interest I will measure in gear acceleration (metres per sec) through 2nd, 3rd 4th and maybe 5th to see if I can identify ideal gear change points to keep acceleration at the peak level.
It flys now though and looks like it will be fun on Wednesday at Snetterton.
Zak will be there on Wednesday to identify any areas for improvement or problems on track too :thumb:
Now to fit my brake cooling ducts

Dunno really ben - all I know is it drives quicker now as spool up is rapid and it kicks you in the back.murano3 wrote:So what output are you expecting now Dunk ....
Will have to see what happens this morning on the dyno runs

Would love to see 300 bhp and 330 lb/ft at the wheels though - but i reckon I will be a little short of that until I can fix the top end breathing limiting factor of the induction now..... On the lookout for an induction kit shortly.
Have just come back from doing some dyno runs and the figures are as follows:
Test done in 4th Gear:
In Gear Acceleration now:
40 - 60mph = 2.8 seconds
50 - 70mph = 2.5 seconds
60 - 80mph = 2.5 seconds
70 - 90mph = 2.8 seconds
80 -100mph = 3.2 seconds
Maximum Wheel Power: 310.9 BHP @ 5649 RPM
Maximum Wheel Torque: 354.1 LbFt @ 4396 RPM
Test done in 3rd Gear:
In Gear Acceleration:
30 - 70mph = 2.1 seconds
40 - 60mph = 1.8 seconds
50 - 70mph = 1.9 seconds
60 - 80mph = 2.5 seconds
The bhp and torque figs were higher for this run but I wont post for fear of upsetting Stuart

The words Fisher Price and Mickey Mouse (and sour grapes) spring to mind. I'm sure the gains are impressive and the acceleration figures are very, very good (if accurate
) Does that use GPS Dunk or do you count the seconds elapsed in your head?
All friendly and bitter rivalry of course. You've done well mate, good luck to you
