hi all

Geting hold of the engine is not the problem.

bike engine
You need a spline adaptor. Basically it is a flange that bolts onto the spline the the sprocket would bolt onto, coming out of the gearbox.
You will also need to change:
Engine mounts, electics, exhaust, gear linkage, clocks, brake bias (probably), diff ratio (maybe), fuel system and loads of other little bits.
It makes you think whether it's worth it really. Might be easier and cheaper to sell yours and buy a bike engined one, or tune the car engine already there.

No doubt you could do it cheaper, but do you have the skills and the time to do it yourself? I am not questioning your ability, I have no idea whether you are any good with spanners or not, but from first hand experience of being someone who has grand ideas, no skills to do it myself and always stretching my shoestring budget to breaking point, cutting costs normally means a massive difference in how long the job takes.
Given the choice now, I'd prefer to try and get the job done quickly and without the aggro if possible........
