decided i needed to do some work on the cossie

most of the parts for the bottom end have been order and should be arriving any day now
I decided to to remove the bottom end from the car by myself without a engine craine . I thought this would be quite hard but turned out easy. I removed all the excess parts such as pistons and the power steering pump . I removed the bellhoussing bolts and pulled the block forward away from the gearbox . To my amazement the block fits between the crossmember and intercooler so all i did was jack the car up and pull out the block. once the block was out i was in the mood to completely strip it so ii removed flywheel and clutch which is no good new one need gonna have to get the flywheel simmed or buy a light weight one not sure yet.
I removed the crank from the block the main bearings had started to pick up so i took a close inspection of the bores but they look fine so do the pistons which will save me a bit of money .

next on the agender is to clean everything and get the block mounted to my engine stand ready for the rebuild

I will keep you all updated as i go

That clutch looks a bit............dead. Hope the rebuild is swift and painless for you Olly. Have you sourced all your new bits? (If so, from where)

Looks a nice project Olly. The exact opposite to what I have just done with my Saph so if you need any bits let me know. I am putting my engine in my MK2 Mex which should be fun! :-D

How come someone had sprayed it Magenta from the original Moonstone then? What a shame, Moonstone is the best colour. :-D Although I am slightly bias.

Oh and you can't beat Azev A's for a class wheel. I Had a set on my BM a couple of years back and loved them. Mind you if you can get a set the ole TSW Hockenheims are a firm classic favourite with the cossie boys at the moment. I have a set to go on mine, just awaiting tyres. 8)

The wheels look cool
I am a Ford man through and through. Just been in hiding for a couple of months. :D
