driving up through my village by this woman walking down the pavement with a pram today....

I was doing exactly 30 mph so thought I would make a point, put the brakes on and reversed down the road and wound the window down to ask her why she was having a go at me.

She proceeded to tell me how fast I was going and how I should be careful cos she was walking her pram and wanted me to slow down. I informed her politely that I was doing exactly 30mph which I always do down there but she thought I looked like I was going much faster.

We then agreed it was the graphics that made it look fast..... so there we have it graphics do make your car fast !!!

I can relate, some old guy in the Village next to me was shouting at me to slow down as I was overtaking a tractor going 15 mph...in a 40mph zone..my speed? 40mph. I didn't have time to stop and reverse like you Dunc as a) I was going to work and b) I didn't feel overly aggravated by it.

I'm glad that you proved you were right and also proved to her that not all 'tarted' up cars are driven by idiots.

Personally I think people who have cars that stand out drive more sensibly than rep mobiles or your common car folks, like the ford focus. man there are some real idiots who keep ploughing though my street at 60+mph...which is a 30mph zone...just because its a straight bit of road.

ever since the graphics were first put on it is so easy to remember/recognise it makes you drive slower on the roads.... not that I speed through built up areas anyway.

I get shouted at all the time but its usually for my telephone number!!



Most of our speed complaints we get through villages are people percieving the vheicle are speeding and the only way through some of them to exceed the speed limit is to sit astride an exocet missile!

there was a time a while back that an OAP threatened to report me to the police because i had to stop sharply when he walked out in front of me....i was doing approx 25 in a 30......
the annoying thing is.......there was a zebra crossing 100 yards up the road and he tried to cross near a junction.

haha, it is the loud exhaust. People hear it and assume you must be speeding for it to sound as loud as it does.
