My Teggy!! Update 1

Post by cannit »

Been thinking lately that I havent got a thread going for my teg so thought i better start one!

I chose the Integra after playing Gran Turismo 4 for about 2 weeks only using the Spoon tuned version in the game and loved it!! I thought to look them up on Autotrader and see how much they cost and couldnt believe it when i saw that there was one 5 miles away from my house in white, Jap import and it had a black bonnet on! I was straight down there for a look and loved it.. I arranged a test drive and then thought to myself, ive come this far! am i going to get the car?? well as you may guess - i did...

My previous cars have been pretty different and Im the sort of person that doesnt like having the 'normal' sort of car - One of my last cars was a 2.0l Turbo 406 which was modelled on the white 406 in the French film Taxi, I did loads to it and it was great fun and very quick around the twistys but wanted to go Jap and after my dad pushing me towards the MR2 i went and got one and had a great year in that and found it fun and challenging to drive at the same time..

In the first week i had the Teg the clutch gave up and it also developed a bit of a misfire  .. However, i had warranty :-D so got some new spark plugs and a new clutch fitted and at the same time while the box was out i fitted a lightweight Exedy Flywheel.. All good after that

Since then i have fitted a Carbon intake system, Carbon plug cover and a Carbon Bonnet (bit of a theme going!!)

Heres a few pics

Mate, great little write up there - she's a bit of a minter man, always like them. I'm sure at some point I shall buy one.

Love those cars.. correct me if i'm mistaken but didn't the integra at one time hold the record for the fastest lap of the nurburg ring for a NA 2.0L production car.

I think you're right for the 1.8 Pablo.

A lovely car, and this particular one is stunning. I miss mine badly and dread reading about how much other people are enjoying theirs  I love the little touches........the Recaros, the Momo wheel. The rev limiter on mine didn't cut in until 9,200rpm and they sing like..............well, for the unitiated, drive one. In anger. Just like the first big hit of a turbo, the first time you realise that you can change down at 6000rpm, VTEC's are just one of those things that you have to sample on your automotive checklist. Things to drive before you die :D

Rant over.

Cheers for all the comments

8,000rpm + is something you can only experience in a few cars and to think it came from the factory like this :o

VTEC is something i never thought would be so dramatic and to experience it properly you need a Type R Honda, the transition is crazy and its something i would compare to a turbo in terms of acceleration feel but the sound is so different and the commitment you have to give the car at those sort of revs and speed is so different from the turbo'd cars ive owned or driven which feel much more effortless in comparison..

Stuart - You got any pics of yours? Sounds like you miss it a bit mate :P
