Coming on well Andy.

The welding looked strong, but those seats need a health warning. Do you store your car in a ditch?

these seat stains are proving to be mega hard to remove with conventional upholstery cleaner. i might have to resort to degreaser :)

Cheers Dunk :)
I'm just idly browsing some old pictures of my car, heres the original water/air chargecooler, with the new FMIC laid alongside as a comparison...

Quite a difference, I'm sure you will agree. I can't say there's much lag either

Here is it at Bolney 2003. What you can't quite see in this pic is the words "RALLY SLAG" etched on the bonnet in the mud.

Handbrake/transmission tunnel cover

Post by andycaca »

I was a bit stuck for something to do this afternoon whilst Prison Break and 24 downloaded, so I went into the workshop and knocked up a handbrake/transmission tunnel cover. This is just the first stage, it will eventually have a panel cut into the top section where I am going to wire a strong 12v feed to power various gauges and switches.

The alarm LED was easy enough to fit, so that was done first

The passenger seat missing from this pic is still drying out after I cleaned it a few days ago (in the bath!)

Shiny! This panel will be sprayed matt black when I've finished faffing about :)

Stereo and 6x9's

Post by andycaca »

As im using my car more often for weekend jollies, I thought it was about time I had a stereo in it. As luck would have it, a fellow owner on the GT4OC was flogging an Alpine 9833 headunit. I've no idea about car stereo's, all I wanted was something to play MP3 cds. The killer feature of this stereo is the ability to turn off all the illumination and still continue playing music. Great for driving on the A14 at 3am, without being distracted by the glare.

These speakers were in the MIGHTY FIESTA until recently. I made the supporting sheet out of 2mm ally plate, fairly easy to do really. The bolts will be replaced with black ones at some point, today I just made do with what I had lying around the workshop.

Total weight gained is about 10kgs for the whole lot.
