So, M3 Saloon has just gone...budget is around 8K.
Current contenders are:
M3 Evo Cabriolet
erm.
That's it.
Well, also possibly Porsche 968 Cab; Chimera; STI Type
New car - what should I get?

R1/Cerbera
GSXR1000/E30 325i Track
Spare cars: 535i/525i Touring/325i Touring

I'm not sure if such a car exists....
- 5 seats
- 8k
- soft top
...............................
I would agree in your selection of the m3 as a drivers car, but your notion of wind in the hair kicks dynamics in the nadgers somewhat. May I ask why you sold the saloon as that may reveal more about its possible replacement.
Having a quick brainstorm, the aforementioned e36 cab is the only open air drivers car with four seats I can think of. (was under the impression they only had two int' back :? )

i cant understand why people buy convertables, they are normally slow and handle crap because of the more weight and strengthening because of no roof.
i think the only reason some people buy convetables is 1: your a female 2:your 40-50yrs old and your going through a mid life crisis 3: your probably gay 4: have a shag pile hairy chest with a big medallion necklees.
im sure none of these apply to you but thats just my opinion. but the only convertable i would buy would be a honda s2000.
out of the list you said i would say the obvious choice is either the scoob or evo6..5 seats.

Hmmm. What's a GTT compared to a GT-R?

i would love to have an SL55. they're none of the above either?
i am/was in the same boat.
i want a performance car with 5 seats incase i want to drag the clan to a meet or event.
my shortlist was...
GTi-R
EVO 3
M3
skyline
legnum ( highly unlikely )
legacy ( B4 RSK would be nice )
BMW 540 V8 ( E39 '97 on )
lotus carlton ( yeah! right! )
not much else i like or would be suitable for my "style"
otherwise i would throw the supra, RX7, GTO into the pot.
on the convertable side.
i am only aware of a couple of 5 seater's? i might even be wrong on them too?
the new volvo thingy and maybe the recent saab 9-5 convertable?
GTR is the 2.6 litre twin turbo four wheel drive wide bodied version, the GTT is the 2.5 litre single turbo, rear wheel drive narrow bodied one. In monetary terms you budget would buy a thirteen year old R32 GTR with basic mods or a nine year old R34 GT-T. Four seaters in honesty. The R32 model is not exactly comodious in the back.............I can't help feeling that you'd be closer to your initial target style car with something like that M3 :lol:jdening wrote: Hmmm.
