What's the outcome?

Did you manage to get the car sorted?

I've done nothing about it yet. Been so busy over Christmas. I'm just getting around to getting back on top of things, so hopefully in the next few weeks I might have a plan! :D

I might well give you a buzz Lloyd. Or if anybody knows a good mechanic in Essex? The guy I use seems to have disappeared over Christmas! :D

In Essex I would say with Zak at Mocom (Harlow-ish) , Geoff (Bubble near Braintree) or Bob at GBH in Colchester. I'm sure someone will mention a Lancer preferred tuner/mech in Essex but those guys I mentioned are sound as a pound for general stuff including very high end work if desired.

How come they knew it only had 1.8l? have they drained it and topped it back up? I work for Renault, we always do warranty work for our customers with no hassle, we actually usually surprise customers with how much Renault cover!

If it were me i would be down the garage going crazy by now, whats the worst that can happen? It has to be covered surely...

The oil level should not drop more than a litre between services so you either have a oil leak or the engine is burning oil, both should be covered by warranty. The engine failing is just the product of one of these

I should have got it service after 4500 miles, but didn't and it was at 6000 when this happened. :(

Anyhoo, Zak @ Mocom is getting the car today at some point so he'll sort it out for me. He thinks it's probably just the crank that needs replacing. Hopefully.
