Out comes the unit for its annual engine and box rebuild.
yes i can imagine it could be a knightmare to control or get any traction at all in this weatherMiniwilliams wrote:Thanks you two, kev@tkl, might have to see it at the next meet in march april timeas that's normally when she gets put back on road. and all the dmap weather should be gone then, that's the plan normaly anyway.
lol i always get it wrong :-D she does sound very different mind you most women hate the cold too lol, the small shot of gas sounds fun, good luck with getting her ready for summer :thumb:Miniwilliams wrote:Hi kev yes your spot on for normal cars mate. But not mine..
The other reason for not using it in the cold weather is because it is a job to start and when it does start and on the move the carb keeps freezing up and stopping the engine, normaly just on a busy round about! :x so you have to sit where every it stopped for about 30 secs or more some times (seems like hours some times) for the carb to let some fuel back in.
I have designed the car for the summer weather and once it goes cold the performance starts to drop off. Some of my best power runs on the rolling roads have been on mild to warm days, (hard to work out i know) Some time in the winter on my last power runs of the year, we have to turn off the cooling fan on the rollers as its just tooooo cold for the old girl, how werid is that. Added to that this last year i have a small shot of gas going in, well just for get it if the weather cool and damp, as it blows the spark out..........................Come to think about it why the hell have i still got her
