Yep def go for it, they are a lot easier to do than you think, once measured and measured again to make sure everything is in the right place its a simple job. If using a dremmel then I'd say you can leave the headlining in place, if a jigsaw then I'd think about dropping the front part of headlining to make sure you don't make a mistake.

Also once you have marked out your cut line, work inside it forst to remove most of the area, then go back and trim to the line, unless you are confident on sticking to the line.

Not done a scooby roof vent but loads of sunroofs, vents and body mods in my time, even been known to attack motors with a dremmel or two as some on here can testify :P
