I didn't disagree with anything you said Nik, anything at all. One of the big plus's for me about BP is that we embrace a wider collection of cars than other sites/clubs, they all have to share that certain DNA of course, but many of love the American Muscle, the classic Fords, Niks V6 Clio etc

By all means, please do try and gain an action plan. In the mean time I'll contact the organisers of the event. I seem to remember that Driftworks took some non-Jap stuff along last year for the drift demo. Perhaps we need to do a demo of our own??

Guys I'm going to step up and say - I totally disagree with having a stand at JAE for Big power. I understand the reasons for wanting one and for those who want to have the opportunity to get more involved, but I don't think JAE is what Bigpower is about.

I know this is a members forum, but the reason you are here is because we are not like the other forums! my worry is that JAE would not be good publicity for us - additionally our cars are not just Jap!

There are other shows that are more about trackdays / rally / sprint etc that maybe we could look at - and it will still give us the opportnity to sit back, share war stories and shoot the sh*t over a few tinnies.

My main concern would be the influx of wannabe's who want to talk about the size of their new sub woofer as opposed to the camber angle of their fluglebinder thingymebob, just for the record, I've nothing against semi-clad girls in bikini's - but not on my bonnet.

Just my ten pennies worth.

Ok I have been thinking about this over night and I have to say That i am beginning to see the point from some of the other members
Having only ever owned Jap machines i have never seen an issue with JAE .However This club being an all for one with track and drag use as the header (not a manufacturer) I am going to back myself into a corner and agree that the venue for a big meet of Big Power would possibly be better at an event such as USC or ten of the best
I will leave it to the powers that be  to make a decision on whether we attend Jae as a club. Of course my offer to help will stand and i will be going either way as i will be Mr GTRoc if Big power do not attend.
I am sure many of the members will be there with respective clubs (Scooby city,200soc, Lancer register etc)
Murano. I completely agree with your sentiments about havin a board full of Chavs However i am sure you are aware that the majority of true enthusiasts who attend Jae will track or drift or drag in some form And to be honest those who are more into styling and stereos are unlikely to join a club based around the things Big power is!!!!!!
Great thread though
Keep the thoughts coming

Maybe as a compromise to attend JAE we could have a

BIG POWER>>> JAP DEVISION???

Thats way, we get to attend for those that want to attend and not just saying we're a jap only club..

If we do go and anyone that doesnt have a jap car is more than welcome to come along with me :D

I also like the idea of a big screen.. maybe we could get a projector and a big white board or sheet?

Just an idea.. ?????

I am going to remain impartial at this point for two reasons. Firstlt, I am yet to speak to the organisers and that may have a bearing on my thoughts. Secondly I would like to encourage the opinions of others before I wade and start getting involved.

Good points from Ben, Jay and Frayz to mention a few. Keep the ideas flowing.

The thing that makes this club better than all the others, is the diversity of Cars/Manufactuers/Owners that are encouraged to join in the Big Power philosophy of using cars the way they should be safely, in a controlled environment.

By splitting the club up into sub sections you then lose this core part of the club!

I'm not saying going to a show is a bad idea infact I think it would be a great way for members to meet up chill out and have a few beers and a laugh but I think it needs to be the right event.

My vote goes 1 in all in!!

Rant over. I'll put my soapbox away. :-#

Rule USC out completely, I have been and it is Chav central.
Never again.

Im easy, if we decide to go then i would be happy to help with all the planning etc but if we dont then no worries.

Maybe a mod could set up a poll to see what the clubs thoughts are as a whole?
