Time Attack - Tuner Teams

Post by duncan »

With the success of the Lichfield Team last year using a professional driver, it seems the others are set to follow:

Whereas some might think that this is bad, I dont - it will make it a reasonably level playing field for the tuner teams (although add to the costs) but means that the pace will be pretty rapid :D

bring in on - Well done paul for getting a great young driver :thumb:

are you LOL'ing at me ... he is young compared to me ;)

I cant wait to watch these battles - I am sure crowd figures and sponsorship will be up as a result of the seriousness that the top teams are taking it :D

Sorry mate. I am the same age as him so i m not fussed.

Its gonna be imposible to beat him or top drivers. as i said he is a top driver and i will cheer him on as a friend but not a fan of the idea behind it

Whilst I appreciate your thoughts, nothing is impossible. I'm sure Matt is a great driver, he must be pretty good to win and compete which he clearly does. But if beating the big teams and drivers is 'impossible', how did Matt Neal stuff everyone in touring cars as a privateer?

My thoughts are that if Time Attack is to be taken seriously as the pinnacle of this sort of racing, it needs the very best drivers onboard to do it. People that pay to watch these events do so because they want to watch the best and be entertained.

A great acquisition for the team at Zen and another very positive sign for the forthcoming year.

Stu Matt alison is going for a touring car drive in 07

He knows the circuits and kart tracks of europe like the back of his hand.
He is faster than phill keen who was also is gtc team mate last year.

Who is more experianced in differant cars and on the circuits ? ie private drivers.

Also he tells me most of the top drivers are semi pro

I think that hell will freeze over before my mate Adrain at Fensport lets someone else drive his Celica

I can understand why Paul has had to do this but its good to see the man thats built the car take it to the track and stand on the podium .

spot on bazza. this is amature motorsport and a place to encourage drivers into better and more competative forms.
