That's a pretty good warranty Geoff! The attention to detail must be of reassurance regarding the build. Is the work purely for durability or are you going for a bit more power too?

It's for durability really Stu, although it should end up with slightly more power with the changes to the induction system. I would prefer more low down torque and less lag than outright bhp for use on the track.stuartstaples wrote:That's a pretty good warranty Geoff! Hope you have more luck with your bearings.
Well the bearings still haven't turned up, Nissan UK still haven't got them and are now saying the 24th of January. Nissan in Japan are on their new year holiday, where they are on order as well. Tried Abbey, Rod Bell, Middlehurst, ACL, but no one has the grade 5 bearings that are needed

450 miles later.......
and we are back home again - phew :wave2:
Well today started off with a drive down to Heathrow to meet up with Trackday Addict and releive him of the drag wheels and Mickey Thompson tyres that I put my name to a couple of months ago. Waved goodbye to John and wished him a good trip to China, good to see you again mate :thumb:
Then we carried on down to Ropley and Rising Sun Performance, where I met up with Richard and Lisa, had a quick cup of tea and then went out to finish running in my new engine. After covering another 150 ish miles, we got back to Richard and Lisas for lunch, which was a nice surprise:)
So then came the time for some mapping, this was when we discovered it was running lean on boost, due to a faulty fuel pressure regulator. A quick trip back to the garage saw it with a GTR regulator and we carried on mapping. We agreed on a conservative 1.2bar and not too much ignition advance, untill some more miles were on the engine. Mind you, we did have a little try @ 1.5bar just to check the fueling and it made quite a difference
A fourth trip to a petrol station today, saw me in the 650bhp RSP drag GTST
I was used to my 500bhp GTT, but that thing just pulls and pulls very strongly right to the 8,500 rpm limiter. It's on full boost by 4,000rpm with only 1.5bar. There is the potential for a lot more with more boost. The brakes were pouring off smoke by the time I returned and Richard said that no one had ever done that before :rotflol: I mean oops - sorry
So a busy and tiring day, 450 miles and four trips to petrol stations.
There are a couple of minor things to finish tomorrow, then on Tuesday I have to fit the new 8-Pot brakes and MOT it, before the trackday on Wednesday
