Also saying that - are your preferences based on experience - I think the skyline is better handling than my Scooby was - however my Scooby had standard suspension and my Skyline has Ohlins.
I've never driven a standard skyline.
It's a shame (due to cost / insurance / risk) that it's not possible to experience each others cars in a controlled environment - I wonder if you were able to experience all types of traction what your preference would still be at the end of the day.
Whats better..... 4WD or 2WD (RWD or FWD)
Interesting that, but in order to get the benefit from AWD/FWD or RWD you need to learn the car. I guess this takes a while until you are 100% confortable with the car in oder to notice the differences.
I just love the way the GT-R skyline drives. Mine was 100% standard when I bought it but was a far better car by the time I sold it with 500bhp, Nismo R-Tune suspension and adjustable camber arms. Or was it the fact I was just getting more and more used to the car? Who knows.

Until recently all my previous cars were FWD. My last car, a CTR, was a great pocket rocket and handled my local B Roads superbly, especially after I fitted the camber adjusters and got a fast road set-up dialled in. If Honda had fitted the LSD as they did to the Jap versions it would have been much better. It struggled for traction exiting the corners if the surface wasn't perfect.
However, since I've become an EVO owner I much prefer the AWD set-up as the cornering and traction especially in the wet are far superior compared to my CTR. Plus it gives me more confidence, I would run out of balls or talent before it lost traction/grip.
The CTR was great for a bit of lift off oversteer on the track mind

EVO VIII FQ300
I have never got on with 4 wd drive.
I have had over short periods
Evo 7 fq300
impreza turbo 2000
Evo 4 ( 310 hp )
Escort rs turbo
Audi 80 quatro
Jaguar S type
plus a few more
I find 4 wd cars un responsive and very low in the driver feedback ( especially the evo 7 ) They felt a bit like you could push and push but gave no indication of the road.
Im not a fan of skylines. I have been in a few and too this day still think they are over rated.
As BMW said front wheels are for turning LOL
Having said all this i hate any driver aids and relish cars that are a challenge to drive.

There's nothing like the feeling of 350bhp/310lbft/sub 1000kg trying everything in its power to drag you all over the road in any gear!!
When you get out of it, you certainly aren't left with a feeling of not having had feedback from it.
I love it!! :-D
Do you have shares in Bridgestone? 8)
