Engine Management

Post by BigFil »

Hi guys, I'm after some advice

As some of you will know the pony is in to have a management system installed, I was going the Motec M800 route as this seemed to be the way to go but this has been halted as it has been suggested that the DTA Pro 8 would be more suitable for what I am trying to achieve ( stand alone engine management )

Have any of you any views on this? Which system do you think would be best and why?

I would appreciate any input as once the final decision has been made I will have to stick with it

Thanks

Fil

Driving a fast Jap import is like coming out of the closet, you might surprise some people, but in the end you are still gay.

I run the DTA S60 pro ECU. It is very very good, as is the support and the user forum. I have not seen the P8Pro, but those that have say the S60 is in another league. The S60 for a 4 banger tho...

There is a new S80Pro available soon  This will do more cylinders and have even more functions. It will be worth speaking to Allan at DTA to see if you can get a full spec sheet and ETA!

Oh and if you want DTA kit at a good price let me know, I know a man that offers more that the DTA allowed discount ;-)

Thanks for that Tony, perhaps you could send me the link for the site and find out for me how much you could get a pro8 for? The pro 8 was suggested because the pony has 8 cylinders, fly by wire, variable valve timing etc. Do you think the s80 pro may be a better option, is there much difference in price? The guy is supposed to be coming back to me this week with a price and it would be good to get a figure beforehand as a benchmark
