Thanks Pablo

Someone has mentioned a very interesting potential donor engine. I will be discussing this with him later in the week. If the plan goes ahead I'll post the full details.........will certainly raise a few eyebrows :)

Update with pics

Just thought I'd show you guys the pristine condition I'm keeping the DD in these days, as a starting point for the project.

Yes, those are tyres piled up on the roof, as well as Daves rear spoiler. Yes that is Daves interior all over the front of the bonnet. What ypu can't see is the amount of toot crammed into the old girl. See. Ford always said they were practical

That silver thing is Daves big hitter, lined up for next years assault on UK and European track days and drag circuits.

To be honest, the garage actually looks pretty good but the Sierra has been a bit of a dumping ground as you can see. With the GTR out and the toot cleared out, things will look a lot better.

After weeks of the GTR bleeding me dry, the Sierra will be given a little TLC starting next week. The schedule looks like this;

-remove toot from car
-remove stickers
-rub paintwork down
-apply new paint (that part should be hilarious, you may want to move your pristine GTR that week Ian ;) )
-deliver the car to Gary's for the service work, new pads and general check over
-get the car back and start welding work adding the strengthening sections to the cage by the A and B pillars, door bars and rear cross or diagonal too. Image
-new runners for drivers seat so that someone other than me can drive it
-new tyres, probably Colway cut slicks for mucho cheapness in the dry and get another set of wheels I already have fitted with some Toyo's for the wets stuff.

This should be a real laugh from start to finish and refreshingly cheap after the other car. I'll be getting as much help from you guys as possible for two reasons. 1) It will help me get the car ready quicker and cheaper than doing it on my own. 2) If you guys have worked on the car you'll be less likely to smash it up if I let you drive it :D

Great news Stu.

I can fully understand the financial arse raping you get when you run a gtr all year on track, both track and strip, even the ring in your case. Hence the reason I have given my GTR a year off (well my wallet) and bought a track toy. For me, once the financial and crashing it fears disappeared the grin factor doubled :-D

I have been round Snett at full tilt in the DD and it is massive fun already :D .......the beemer and the DD could have some great fun on a twisty track

Dan
can you imagine Me, you and Trev, James in his E30, Pike, Woody and Steve in his VW Golf all battling like wacky racers around a track? What a laugh :D :thumb:
