MOT Failure

Post by mirage »

yep i still cant drive it becuase its now failed the MOT

nothing to serious im hoping to have it put right in time to get on the track day at snetterton but so much needs doing before then.

it failed on

both front upper suspension bushes worn/excessive play

offside rear track rod end has excessive play

so back to APT i think

strangely it passed the emissions test without a cat on.

If its pre 94 then they do a non cat test mate which is a bit more lenient.

Unless you have a car that produces 7% (3.5 limit) HC lol

Hope you get it sorted mate, dont lose patience with the car !!

Thanks Mirage,

It's both front upper suspension bushes and both rear track rod end bushes on mine.

Mine also failed it's first MOT for battered suspension components - seems to be a common GTR thing.

Or could it be a coilover thing on the roads around here?

Ouch that's a bit 'ARSH

- round here that's fighting talk - mind you round here saying "hello" is fighting talk

I wasn't aware the build quality on the 33 was any better than the 32 - (the 34 is a different kettle of fish) - still can't be all that bad it's lasted knocking on 17 years
