Apexi Induction kit ---- Advice please

Post by Mr Windscreen »

I,ve just got a apexi kit for my R32 GTR.I,ve been told I can just bolt this on and then reset the E.C.U. Is this correct? Any advice from other apexi user,s gratefully received. :thumb: My car is standard apart from an exhaust.

If you fit the kit and then disconnect the battery. leave for a few minutes depress the foot pedal to discharge any voltage and then reconnect the battery go for a drive and your ecu should learn it`s new airflow readings.

Make sure you front wheels are straight though or the ECU will think they are straight even though they are not and you will have a car that crabs sideways.

As to resetting the ECU - you don't need to, didn't on mine and it's fine. It will learn soon enough.

You'll love the noise by the way :thumb:

Good advice above. I wouldn't think a reset of the ECU is necessary to be honest.

Yes - the sound - Apexi's sound fantastic - additionally you will now hear your recirc valves.

What other mods have you got, do you have an uprated downpipe, decat and exhaust?.

Have you posted any pics of it yet?, I can't remember seeing any.

Would certainly recommed Apexi downpipes and a decat (make sure it has the threaded holes to allow the sensors to be refitted though.

Mine is a 1991 J and it had a cat - all R32 GTR's came catted from new.

To post pics - logon onto a site like http://www.photobucket.com - register - you then upload your pics. Once a pic is uploaded you will see below each one three choices. Select and Copy the last selection with the IMG pre and post your pics address.

Paste this info into the post your are creating and hey presto, like magic you will have a pic.
