MX5 alarms?

Post by Evo »

Ok hopefully someone might know something about this...

P reg MX5 with an aftermarket alarm system (alarm only). When unlocking the car, you press the unlock button the key fob and the alarm just goes off...!
To get the alarm to switch off you have to lock the car again with the fob and then unlock it and everything works fine!
Seems very strange to me, but has anyone got any ideas! :?:

I've tried changing the battery on the key fob but still having the same problems?

hmmm, I was thinking that, just thought I'd ask around and see if anyone had had similar issues before...

Anyone?

i bought an alarm system of flea bay as everyone likes to call it, but never fitted it. I sold it on as i bought a Clifford alarm instead. The guy who bought it off me said the same thing. the alarm went off as soon as you pressed the lock button on the fob. He sent it back to he manufacturer and they said the brain had gone. So did the professional who installed it.
