I quite fancy a go at an airfield track day but want to upgrade the brakes on my R33 GTSt first, can anyone recommend a good supplier for yellow stuff pads and braided brake lines. I also assume I should be using dot 5.1 brake fluid but would welcome any advice on this.
TIA

Yellow stuffs are ok, but the compounds seem a little inconsistent from one batch to the next ( I used to use them in my trackcar) I have been using DS 2500's from Ferodo for the last few years in my road cars, GTR included, and they are really good. A little dearer but well worth it in my experience. A few of our official suppliers do these, ASP and MOCOM racing included

Thanks for the advice.
I think I might as well go the whole hog and get my discs replaced at the same time. Is it normal to just replace the front discs? I have 17" wheels on and am not intending to change them just yet. Does this mean I am limited to getting 296mm discs or can you go any bigger? I have also been looking at EBC turbo grooved discs, does anybody have any views on these?
Sorry for all the questions but as you may have guessed I am new to all this fast car stuff.

If you want bigger discs I have a really good contact for these :-D You can definitely get 330mm behind there, maybe 345mm if your alloys are spacious enough behind for caliper clearance.

to put my 2p in, i use and highly recommend the mintex 1155 compound. slightly more track oriented than the 1144 and yet still good for the road. they dont need quite as much heat in them for the initial bite compared to other track compound pads i have tried (porterfields).
