for 323ian... a good twin plate will take u a long ways. Most twins have different pressure plate choices. Like for instance mine has two choices. my pressure plate (which is the softest one) is 1000kg/2200 pound pressure plate and rated at 600bhp. which is very soft. almost like standard. Or I could opt for a 750bhp rated twin plate if i was going for your power level. Which is just a tad bit stiffer. Either way u have choices on twinplates for power ratings. All the big clutches...HKS, OSG, ORC all have that option. good luck.

hey people something of interest...

I spoke with Motorworx engineering here in japan today....

here is their take on super singles, twin plates, and triple plates.

First of all they build alot of high HP drag cars out here so they know their shit. anyways. First of. They absolutely HATE the triple plates..which of course I was suprised. Reason being is they say that a little clutch slippage is a good thing. U dont want all that 500+ HP coming down on that drivetrain without any give. the shock the triple plates put down is tremendous. Not only does it affect drivetrain longetivity, but launches, and gear changes become more difficult in finding traction.

twin plates....They do like using twin plates for anything over 500whp. still harsher than a super single but normal slip well enough not to cause too much havoc.

and the winner is. Super singles (for drag cars 500WHP...600bhp or below)
of course as i said before clutch slippage isnt all bad. saves drivetrain, and aids in launching. However they say the only drawback is they dont last as long as a twin.

anyways thats their take. just figured it would be relevant.

Thanks for the comments. I had heard that a little slip was a good thing for launching...........I think I've got myself sorted on this now (fingers crossed) Will post my findings in due course. One thing is for sure. I will find out how well it works on the 15th :thumb:
