what a fantastic idea!!...this is what clubs are all about

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat (er plane!) as GT4Dave..

10 years experience on various light aircraft, structure and engines....plus some experience on business jets and turbine engines....and 8 years on C130 Hercules... :?

...so not much use unless you (or your boss) has a plane

I can help with car mechanicals but I am crap with bodywork (terrible at welding, spraying, etc!)
I have rebuilt MA61 Celica Supra engines (i used to have 3 of them) and I do all my own maintenance so I am sure I can help out somewhere along the line

Hi Blacky,

would you be able to make a rally style light pod for my GT4?

I would love one and there is a market for them on the GT4OC if you can...they would look really good for shows etc...

...wouldn't want to drive too far with them on though..wind resistance, stone chips, chafing paint off the bonnet, etc :?[/img]

Brilliant idea although I don't understand half of the skills, let alone know if I'll ever need them :)

Only contribution I can think of is: I have a small TIG welding set for stainless (Can't do ali) only if it's not too fiddley as the eyesight's going.

Bought a car transporter/trailer recently off ebay. It's a mile too long and heavy as it was used for LWB vans. Once it's cut down to size and generally tarted up I'll make it available for loan.

Can offer a bit of advice on plumbing/pipework but if you need my help you shouldn't be doing the job in the first place.

Most of my other knowledge is industry based, know a bit about steam and sterilisation, biotech fermenters is the main business, servicing, fixing, modifying.

Fiddle with cars a bit, do as much of my own work as I can with limited facilities although I've recently bought an engine hoist, so it'll be engine out soon. Willing to lend a hand where possible.

Ideal for long wheelbase vans at the mo but weighs a ton.

BTW I don't weld ali but know a man who does, very reasonably priced and into cars in a big way, currently runs an Integra Type R with turbo :o
