Merely a theoretical question Leigh. So come on, who wants to have a crack at spending my money and what sort of drive will it give, projected figures too if you feel flash. Currently 413bhp and 331 lb torque.

Think I'd prefer to stay with twins but this thread is all about your ideas, not mine! I'm interested in the process of gleaning ideas from other car owners outside of the normal GTR world.
I can run at 1.2 bar anyway, but may run very close on fuel. I use 440's as standard too Andy.......keep it coming. By the way, I've got the brakes covered as well.

Sell that heap of crap Datsun and buy a reliable car !!!

:D :D :D :D :D

Ok.....

.....given that you wont ever see over 600 on a low budget, then you dont need to worry about internals, super trick ECU's (bye bye Motec etc !!! :D ) or lots of fancy fueling.

Standard rail will accomodate 680's from memory, so thats first on the shopping list. GTR should come good with those from someone for say

Oh,

And dont forget to start saving immediately for an oil cooler and uprated oil pump as it wont be your friend for long without those two bits.

Filter relocator is a mixed blessing and a radiator would be nice when you feel you want to polish off another grand !!!

Safe is good :)
points noted;
- I have a metal head gasket.
- I prefer the idea of Power Fc D-jetro to get rid of those pesky AFM's
- wtf does mfd mean?
- the turbos.........Gary at APtuning fitted them and thought they were N1's, I wouldn't know, suppose I should have checked. If standard size ones, they;ll only flow enough air for 480 anyway.
- Oil pump..great shout...will N1 suffice?
- Oil cooler too......any value for money options from your experience, will gladly forego bling.

N1's are good for just over 500bhp.

D-Jetro is great because it uses MAP rather than AFM however its Loadsssssss more money, and I am still unsure how many people can map it well. For example I have just had a majorly discounted mates rate bill for the extras the Orange needed to run airflowless with FconPro (which was given to me FOC) and it still came to the same sort of cost as a Power FC would have been on its own !!! Your the man who said he was on a budget, dont go getting ideas of granduer on me now !!! :P :P :P

Good news about the metal H/G

MFD is the fancy computer thing us posh folks have in R34GTR's :D :D :D which is just a set of bar graphs showing the state of play for various paramaters like Oil Temp, Pressure etc etc or a couple of On Screen gauges if you select it, hand controller can do some if this for you instead.

I cant remember which oil pump is the one to have - Jun one is a con as I recall as it just has a bigger collar or summat, I think the Nismo one is possibly the best or possibly Trust, but Mark at Abbeys would be your man for that, or Bob at GBH if Gary is unsure.

Second hand oil cooler kit that hasnt been fitted is probably a good idea, failing that spec yourself a 19 row Mocal and get the lines made up yourself as this saves a fortune over official HKS type kits.

Be careful about oil filter relocators, as having them up high can make them drain back and then cause air blockage that bypasses the cooler all together.

Hope that helps,

J.
