Race harnesses - again

Post by Cusco Demon »

Finally got my Sabelt 4 point harness today. Tried to fit it this afternoon, but got thwarted by the fact I don't have a socket big enough to undo the seatbelt and seat mounting points......but also I can't see how to get to the outside front mounting point for the lap belt. Looks like it's hidden behind the carpet and B pillar trim. The rear points are easy, as is the inside mounting point as that's on the seat rail.

Any help/advice?

I think Dunk had to take the seat out to get to it properly Rob. He's away for a couple of days so you may be better sending Scoobyandscrappy a PM or call him. I can lend you any tools you may need.

thanks Stu, already sent Leigh a PM.

Dunc said it just bolted straight on to the mounting points, but I'm not sure if they're different from Classics to New Age. Was anticipating having to remove the seat, just not sure where the outside mounting point is. Leigh's will be the same as mine, so hopefully he'll be able to set me right

Thanks for the advice over the phone Leigh! :D

I'll head over to my Dads tomorrow to swipe his socket set, and we should be good to go!

Thanks for the advice Leigh. Wasn't quite a 20 minute job, but easy enough. Damned effective, makes you feel like you've strapped the car on, rather than got into it. Bring on the next sprint! 8)
