Quality control and general thoughts after 2 months.

Post by Stuart »

I thought I'd mention a couple of changes to try and help with our recent issues concerning certain new members. I would mention that the site is very much a work in progress and changes will be rolled out at steady and regular intervals.

From here on in, all new users will have to submit their details for approval prior to their account being activated. This will enable us to evaluate the merit of any application prior to said applicant using the site. The benefits to this are obvious and whilst I appreciate that the initial sign up process will be slower, the end results should pay dividends. New users, once accepted, will be on a short term 'probation' period. No real change in reality but at least the very mention of the word may instill a degree of 'think before you post' whilst they settle in to the site.

I am delighted with the progress that the site has made in the whole. The mature nature in which you guys conduct yourselves has made the job of running the site much easier than it could have been. Indeed, it is very likely that the self moderation shown by you all has enabled Duncan, Ben and I to pursue the deals, advertisers and fringe benefits for members ( private meet venue, workshops etc) far earlier than we would have normally expected. I thank you all for that.

Thanks for the honest feedback I have had from members and users via posts, PM's and good old fashioned phone calls. Keep it coming. The emphasis of this site moving forwards will continue to be quality of cars and their owners rather than bums on seats. Your feedback along the way makes that all the easier.

Looking forward to seeing some of you on Sunday and l'm sure I'll see all of you at our first meet at Snetterton Race circuit in October.

I think that is a fantastic idea, after all people should be coming to the site because they are enthusiasts of cars and Big Power and therefore shouldn`t be here to use it like a kiddies chat room. So anyone who is genuinely interested will understand and welcome the delay in their registration if to provide a better forum.

Seems like a very mature approach to the problems of running a forum.

I wish you good luck and keep up the great work.

I know just how hard it can be running stuff like this as I currently have 1200 paid up members over on the GT4OC.

Kind regards
