I used to be RobTwinTurbo, but lost my license racing some guy called Dave who wore a dirty turban :D

8 Months left to go, but it's not dragging as much as I thought it would

i guess it is a number of things:

tengoku, road racing, banned from driving....

forgive me for being abrupt or appearing rude but just wondering why you were here where this site is about using cars in the way they were meant to be done in the appropriate place

Ok fair enough question.

Simple answer I drove a high performance car and will again. Is this not the site for this?

But please get off your high horse, are you trying to tell me you have never given your car any teddy on the road? If this was true why have it road registered, if it's just for the track. If you show me a member who has never accelerated damn hard or sped then I'll eat my hat.

I did give my car some teddy and unfortunatley I paid the hefty price. Lets get the situation into context. I am not a chav, or a boy racer, by todays status/ class structure I would be classed as a young, middle class professional.

It happened very VERY late at night, on an empty section of dual A road. I could see far ahead, and the weather was cool but fine. So decided to plant my foot.

Policman coming the other way wasn't to happy, he then gave me the line "Be honest and we'll go easy" So I proceeded to give them song and verse. 6 months later I'm delt the body blow of a 12 month ban.

Who are you to judge me for the fact I'm honest about what happened to me and can make light of it.

Further more does the fact I belong to another forum matter?

So none of you guys belong to owners clubs or other forums?

Please don't be silly, you can have me as a member or not it doesn't really bother me as the welcome I have received and the amount of newbies who have been removed due to membership of another forum makes me unsure as to wether this is the type of forum I want to be part of.

I read the site I made a simple logical decision:

I owned a "Big Power" car, I will again so join, makes sense to me didn't realise there was so much tension.

Thanks for answering the question as you say a 'fair question' but I am confused as to why you then attack me for asking it.

I dont have a high horse, I have points on my license (only 3 mind that come off next month), but just wanted to understand your motivations for what appears to be a 'brag' about losing your license.

Ok, here we go AGAIN.

Rob,
look at the nature of your first post. Look at the nature of other posts recently which have very little if anything to do with the core reasons for BigPower being different to other forums, or striving to be anyway.

Now you've done that, I'm sure you'll agree that something along the lines of the way you've just described what happened, would have been a better way to introduce yourself to a new forum.

Fair play for putting your cards on the table. Nice car, I've always liked Soarers and yes, I'm sure we have all driven briskly on the Queens highway. Sometimes we we get away with it, sometimes we don't.

Lastly, you asked who dynamix was to judge you. He is a moderator on this site and widely respected throughout the country as a businessman, driver and performance car owner. He has competed in national standard motorsport for years and still does regular events all over the UK and more recently Germany too. If you were honest in post one as you were in post 4, I'm sure you would have received a warmer welcome from the whole board.

Do you want to start again Rob?

As I said not a brag, I make lite of it. Christ it's made my life easy. My work employed a driver for me and gave my miss' a company car. All I have to do now is be driven around.

With his experiance as a driver & business man he should know not to judge a book by it's cover.

I became un-amused at the insinutation that I wasn't being spoken to because I was a member of another forum, and had been banned for racing. What? does that make me scum? I made a mistake, I was caught. I've dealt with it so now make fun of the fact.

Rob, I am pleased for you that your work were so understanding. Many companies wouldnt be in that situation and could easily have turned a case of poor judgement into a life ruining experience.

I wasnt aware of your original post yesterday until this evening as we had been out yesterday looking at the videos of our recent trip to nurburgring and planning the next one :) ... so please excuse any perceived blanking.

anyway back to topic ;) and on the subject of a fresh start - Welcome :D ....Have you still got the soarer or was that sold?
