Decent Racing Game for the Xbox360 when?

Post by goodap »

Whens the first decent racing game coming out for the XBOX360, so far im fairly disappointed by the lack of any good racing games. PGR3 to me is nothing special, and no others games seem any better.

I think things might get better once Forza 2 and GTR come outs, but we are talking quite a few months away still :(

I just want something that feels right and something that looks next gen . GTR looks awesome, plays realistic on my pc, and the tracks are better (proper racing circuits).

Unfortunately no game im aware off on the market gets close to it.

Forza is mid November, GTR is to be announced mate. Have you tried Test Drive yet Paul?

No I've not tried test drive stuart, do you know if a demo is available on xbox live? If so I'll give it a try.

Whats it like?

I know Forza2 has been in development for quite a while and its got real world tracks so im hoping its going to be really good.

GTR should be good, although I feel it might be a port across from the pc. This will be a shame because console users will be behind a whole game series as GTR2 comes out this month for the pc.

GTR will be published by THQ and not Atari, so hopefully a little work will have gone into by the time it comes out (maybe March)
GTR2 is more arcadey from first impressions, I hope I'm wrong. Test Drive is good fun, although if true simulation is your bag, you may be better trying it first. The demo was available last time I checked or you can sample it on Wednesday at our post Ring night.

Excellant cheers for the info, yes I do like the simulations type of racing games.

I was going to leave the ring night as I didnt want to intrude, but I'll take that as an invite as Im really interested in going next time round.

Also the cars in with Leigh that day having all the work done , so any excuse to drive a little further is greatly accepted!

See you Wednesday

Agree GTR is an amazing game !!!

Wasnt really that impressed with the GTR2 demo, thought it was too similar to the 1st one, bit like TOCA 1 and TOCA 2.

I like the arcadey games on the 360 at the mo as they are pretty good fun and it doesnt matter that much if you crash. If you play Forza and you crash whilst realistic you never catch the others up. Although Murano3, Evo and myself had some really good fun with linked PS2s playing GT4.

I have high hopes for Forza 2, fingers crossed that it gets released before christmas and not something Microsoft keep in their back pocket for when the PS3 comes out. I bet they seriously have to rethink there release schedule to make sure some 'good' titles come out around that time.
Even if its the same as Forza 1 but with better graphics it will be good.
