now you can see why they are cheap to rebuild !!

If you look closely the rotors actually have the tips in them at the corners (rotors are the triangular shaped pieces lol)

that's right. if you get all the seals and o rings out then there's a hell of a lot more bits to photograph tho!
still, illustrates how few parts there are, and only 3 moving main parts (the rotors plus the eccentric shaft) :)

But i have always wondered if they are so good and reliable etc then what has stopped them going into production big time ?
Fuel economy?

They are still in production !!

Yeah mate the RX8 is basically the same engine but with different intake ports I believe !!

Typical Skyline owner making that comment...... :x
