Thinking about making bits of the website "private" to stop casual lookers in seeing details of the cars etc

Primarily the members cars section and also the projects section.

What do you think?

Good and bad points. Pro's are that any undisclosed mods can stay undisclosed :) Con's are that if we are to inspire new potential members into joining we are losing a big asset by restricting access to members cars.
I supposed we could have teaser section and then keep the juicy stuff private? I personally think that any changes of this nature should be made as soon as possible whilst the forum is still in it's formative stages.

I have agreed for things like vid's - I know all videos are filmed under controlled enviroments on test tracks .......

As to the member cars - I think leave the gallery public .. but the spec restricted.

Having pics of the cars (and the members) is really good to get people involved.

I think it's a good idea personally - stops any Tom , Dick or Harry viewing stuff that perhaps you don't want the whole world to see, such as video filmed on 'private' roads etc.

I think a private section or members only section but only for subjects like video`s. To make it all private would be missing the point of the forum.

Yeh - I can see it from both sides.

Do we really need to restrict anything - in reality as long as you post sensibly you should have no need to restrict viewing.
