any Ideas people on some side skirts for this baby that will match the drift kit. Don`t want the actual ones that come with the front bumper. Have seen some S13 skirts but not sure!

Jesus

Is nothing sacred? Instead of spunking all this cash on a car you admitted you may be changing, why not put the cash to one side and get a car you may prefer mate?

because this is a my goal to make something very different that everyone will stare at maybe in awe or maybe in disgust but as long as I am pleased with the end result I will be happy.

Here`s a few pictures of the bumper being modified for the R33. As I said before the front bumper is a R34 drift bumper. This is the car with the front bumper removed and head lights, very easy job to do.

Image

Now to chop up the bumper to fit. The good thing is the r34 is basically the same width so we didn`t have to chop it in half to extend it or decrease its width.

Image

The horns in the middle though is a different story they are too far apart and interfere with the head lights so they are ground off as you can see.

Next, I decided the mouth wasn`t big enough so out came the grinder again to cut out a bigger mouth

Image

Now the only problem is it looks a mess and there is no skirt going into the mouth so we built one in.
here is the end result

Image

Now to fit the kit. The kit was a bit of a nightmare to fit because the main crash bar at the front must be different than the R34 so some material need to be ground off rather than forcing it on.

People don`t seem to understand how much work is involved in fitting a kit and think when you buy it from a shop it will go straight on, not true at all. Kits need fettling and adjusting here and ther eto fit as every car is different.

Image

Next i ordered some Nismo smoked front indicators for the R34 front bumper which unfortunately are completely different size connectors than the R33 standard wiring. Nuts! so i chopped the connectors off and hard wired them in and insulated them. Hey presto working indicators. The bumper was painted by my mate who`s a painter and finisher in the Forces. The idea was any white will do as the car is being painted a different colour in the future. I couldn`t believe that the colour was a great match anyway.

Well today I was doing nothing so i decided to crack on with the rear, so to speak. I stripped off the back bumper which is more like a splitter. I was surprised at how much room the boot has with no carpet in it.

Image

I`m sure I`ll fill that later with some I.C.E

here the car with no bumper, it took liturally 20 mins to get off, bargain!

Image

Bumper removed

Image

Now I moulded on a subaru do luck rear splitter onto an old bumper and cut it to fit the chasis. This involve taking it off, on, off, on many times with a cut here and a cut there until she fit.

Now she needs to go and smoothed to the shape I want and then made out of fiberglass so she`s all one piece. To be continued.......
