Dan, it is a Sigma 150-500 I bought secondhand from TP forum at about 2/3 of the price of a new one. Have only used it at a zoo and a mix of disappointing and the odd good one so Snetterton was a chance to really try it. As Ben says it is very close even at 150 and I did feel sometimes I was missing the shots but think they have come out pretty well. Ideally though I think a 70-200 f2.8 would be a better lens but even they are 1k secondhand and just under 2k new :O As this was less than half the secondhand one of those I am pleased with how it performed. Both Ben and I have found by upgrading our lenses (we have Tamron 17-50s, mine is a VC and his isnt but his is fractionally sharper) it has really improved our photography.
There were some really nice cars there, a mix of RX8s, MX5s, couple of Nobles, track cars, Porsches etc etc something pretty much for everyone throughout the day.
Anyway enough talk.....more pics
