Brake Skimming
I had DBA golds on the Skyline GTR with Ferodo DS2500's - a really good combo set up. Prior to this I had all 4 Brembo discs skimmed in Hatfield, did a real good job for

Duncan the big problem with the impreza STi, newer evos (V>), and the likes of the 350z is ultimately they use a generic Brembo caliper that was only ever designed as a "street" set-up.................
its hugely oversize for its pad profile to give the impression the cars have bigger brakes than fitted.........this can cause a problem when used aggressively on track in that it struggles to expel the heat buildt up, this in turn causes problems for pad material, fluid, etc..............
affects different owners in differing ways dependant on how they use (abuse) their car.............some owners can't believe you'd ever need anything else

No problems with the DBA's - they cost medynamix wrote:Thanks for your opinion Nik - I was thinking this might happen.
Have you had any problems with the DBA discs? These are what I am looking to fit next year prior to the first event of the year and wondered how they would hold up to ferodo pads and some fairly serious track abuse

I had all four Tarox discs on my old impreza skimmed by Autotest as i was getting bad judder,i was told by one garage that i needed all new discs but all was cured after the reskim and they are still on the same after nearly 18 months
Autotest recently done the front discs on my evo, they do it on the car and they say they are better than when they came out of the factory,i can't praise them enough..very helpful and profressional 8)
