Duncan,
You went for a cheap cooler in the end then lol.
How about putting a little plate/seal at the back of the cooler to seal it at the back against the inside of the bumper to make sure all air goes through the core. You know what i mean?

Looking good Dunc, i love the holes, but the mesh needs to be black

Also, how abouty mounting a slimline scoop behind those holes with a duct pipe directed into a pod that covers the cooler. You could then have the oil cooler in a sealed housing with a direct air feed.

Seems simple enough mate.

Seen it done in the us and they had the air escaping from the back of the oil cooler into the wheel well.

the mesh will be black mate - you've blown my surprise

I wont go down the scoop route at the moment, I want to see how well this works as is before seeing if any additional help is needed. There is a ready made scoop there though with the leading edge of the fin if that was chopped out.

you certainly seem to get well stuck into jobs now mate ,i must remember not to leave you unsupervised in my workshop :-D :-D
just thinking out of the box so to speak my rangerover has a small fan fitted to the gearbox oilcooler

if you mount a cooler or rad at an angle you actually increase its active surface area and increase its cooling effectiveness............check out the 45deg mounted rads on a F1 car.............

Thanks Alyn - I knew there would be a reason that supported the angled theory

Looks great with the mesh in place on the car.

Just the pipe runs to sort now and some oil to go in it.
