the plenum has been sorted with new hoses, bolts and other bits (again I've been marking each part just so that I know exactly where it is supposed to go when re-fitting, it takes a bit longer but it's been well worth the extra effort as I'm not having to constantly refer back to the user manual or photos)

This is how the old engine looks now

there's nothing too obviously wrong with it other than the horrendous amount of oil and fuel in places where oil and fuel just aren't supposed to be!

No pistons or rods through the block or anything like that but the oil in the sump was really gritty with tiny particles of metal (and a random bit of silicone sealant in the filter?)

I've been cracking on with the turbo rebuilds and have only just realised that the gaskets for the turbo/downpipe that I have are 4 bolt whereas the new turbos are 5 bolt, so I've just ordered a new set of 5 bolt gaskets

Luckily the HKS turbo elbows that I had off Christian are 5 bolt whereas the old aftermarket downpipes from the old engine were 4 bolt

I appreciate that this build is a bit boring and slow but I'm learning as I'm going and writing this up more as a log for future reference than anything else, it won't be long now I'm sure
