I'm thinking of getting a new car (advise please) EVO 5/6

Post by Asty »

Ok i'm thinking of selling the GTO TT , and getting a evo 5 or 6 , i'd love a 7 but dont think i can stretch that far :( , , the only thing putting me off is i love the inside of the GTO , and the EVO sems a bit plain inside , but apart from that is there any advise you lot could give for when i decide to start looking in a couple of months

Thanks 8)

There are very few Japanese car interiors that you can get excited about, not in standard form anyway. 240z, RX7 or 8 aside there aren't many that would give me the horn in standard trim anyway. But there lays my point...........why leave it standard? You need only look as far as something like a rally or track orientated EVO of any age and with a decent aftermarket wheel and a few guages you're away.
We have many EVO owners of different types on the board and a fair few of them will be coming along to the monthly meets. This may be a good, relaxed way of chatting to the people who will know the most about this car.

I thought the 7s were cheaper than the 6s because they werent as popular ?

In my opinion the 6 looks nicer (sorry guys if you have a 5) than the 5.

if you get a 7 then you can easily fit a leather interior or 8 MR / 9 suede interior

but tbh you don't buy an evo for the interior

you buy it for the performance and how it looks on the outside

well at least i did

:)

also join and post on the MLR (http://www.lancerregister.com) for all the Evo info and answers you'll ever need

VIIs sell for less that VI's and even some very good example V's. VIII's have a much nicer nose but the later evos have lost the aggressive stance in my opinion :)

that's news to me

it's probably true that a low mileage 6 Mak will be more than a high mileage standard 7 .... but I've not seen 5's that cost more than a similar quality 7
