I am about to do an oil and filter change and I have been given a filter relocation kit. I was just wondering if the positioning of the relocated filter is critical or can I put it wherever I want?
Does it need to be low down or can it be high up? say near the upper suspension mount?
Any views appreciated.

Oil filter relocation position?
Oil filter relocation position?

It does't matter if its positioned high up as the oil's pumped round. I agree with Duncan about keeping the pipes short but don't worry if its not possible National Hot Rods have their oil cooler and filter in the back of the car

Just make sure you use a filter with a non return valve.
Has yours got a cooler aswell or just the relocation kit?

Thats where I was thinking of mounting it, and sideways to make it less messy when I change the filter.

Thanks for the help guys

I would have thought lower the better so the pump doesn`t have to work as hard. Gravity will assist the oil flow.Pike wrote:It does't matter if its positioned high up as the oil's pumped round.
