Dirty Intercooler

Me being a technically minded chap thought I'd ask a quicky..........
My lovely ARC intercooler is looking a bit grubby these days. It used to look like this



But too many pigeons



and clattering these oh so tempting beauties all the time



and the odd



Have lead to it looking like this



Now I don't doubt Gary can advise me on this, but in also interested in the humble amature opinion too. What do you reckon guys? (Helpful pointers like' stop twatting cones' will be shrugged off)

what about compressed air. Blow it down and then some sort of de-greaser spray, then let it soak in and blow it off again.

Can't see that a careful blast with a pressure washer would do much harm.

wheel cleaner worked in with that brush type thing and hose down gently

All good ideas :thumb: Anyone got any first hand experience with the wheel cleaner type products on this sort of alloy?

The fluid that Gary got for us is very good - I reckon that using that neat would do the trick.

I was a little concerned that the solution may be a little too agressive :? I'll be down at the unit in the morning trying to get the Brembos on, I'll have a dabble then and post the results. If it eats through my FMIC, I'll borrow yours Ben :lol:

To say how good it is - it's moved most of the brake dust from my wheels !!!

Wheel cleaner I got you won't hurt it at all, its non acid, only a very strong cleaner, if used neat then I'd recommend washing it off within 5 mins just to be safe, but saying that I have left some on alloy before for over an hour and no visible signs of damage.
