Defi VSD Concept

Post by raj_uk »

Hi All

I just wondered if anyone else uses Defi VSD Concept or is it just me ?

I remember a few months ago when I was looking for reviews / feedback I couldn't find any, so I dove in and bought one anyway

regards

I haven't bought one yet. I did the opposite, couldn't find any results and therefore didn't buy one :) Can you share your thoughts, any good?

I have got one. My general driving position combined with my momo steering wheel meant that I couldn't see the speedo without ducking my head down. The VSD solves that.

as people might know the speedo in the evo is daft, as in less than 180 degrees of the speedo goes from 0-180 mph so there is only 5-8mm for every 10mph !!

I was looking for a solution andit could have included a really cool, but hideously expensive Stack dash replacement, or a road angel add on GPS speedo, but when I was thinking of getting a Defi boost gauge I thought I'd get a Defi VSD Concept

here are some pics of it installed

Overall I really like the speedo being on the windscreen and not having to take my eyes off the road and have to concentrate to read the speedo (not mind bending stuff but you know what i mean, it's distracting to have check the speed to make sure you're under the limit, especiallywith such a cluttered/small speedo)

If you also have oil/water temp/pressure you can plug those in too and the VSD controller plugs into your Defi Link II too. As standard it displays the speed and the rpm and you can set it to have a shift light / beep too. When the car is not moving the main numerical display also shows the rpm so could be useful for launches.

Feel free to ask me any questions, and you can have a look in person if you bump into me when i am out and about

That looks a good idea for vehicle speed and RPM. I would like audible warnings for coolant temp above 90 deg and oil pressure at 4000rpm if it dropped below 3.5bar. Dont know about you but at full throttle my attention is 100% on the road

I believe that if you have the Defi temp and pressure sensors then you can have the VSD concept display their values and also set audible warnings too

have it fitted its good for seeing rpm limit etc and you soon get used to the square on the screen
8.95 sec 1/4
0-60...2.7sec
968bhp@8100rpm@2.4bar
0 - 122mph in 6.1 sec 1/8 mile
201mph/mile
