Advice please

Post by mutleysfriend »

My car is a Skyline R33 GTSt automatic and currently running at 340bhp and I have read that there are automatics that have been tuned to run at 400bhp and would like to achieve somewhere around this mark.

My current set up is:
Trust downpipe & decat pipe
Japspeed exhaust
Greddy fmic
Greddy boost controller
Apexi SAFC II
Turbo technic hybid turbo
Nismo 555 injectors
Upgraded fuel pump
Iridium plugs
Splitfire coilpacks
HKS style turbo elbow

My tuner says the car can give a lot more but the AFM is Max'ed out. It is set up to run at 1bar.

As it's an automatic I can't use a Power FC and my tuner is not keen on Greddy emanage hence I went the route of the SAFC II. Can anyone see a way of squeezing some more out of the old girl. Any advise would be appreciated.

TIA
mf.

Why not go for a bigger capacity AFM such as the Q45 one or even the Z32 out of a 300zx? They should both be capable of flowing more I would have thought. Out of interest, who is your tuner?

Great spec by the way, welcome to the site :thumb:

Also - were you the same fella who was asking about a spray shop in norfolk / suffolk on GTR.co.uk.

I would recommend H-tech styling in norwich - Vulcan road.

To answer your question use what Stu has said or you can get nismo AFM's as well.
If i remember correctly i beleive the RB25 AFM is bigger than the RB26 ones so you 'should' be OK with 400 BHP on it.

The tuner I am using is APT in Lenwade just outside Norwich. They seemed unsure as to whether a Z31 could be adequately controlled by the Apexi SAFC2, so I thought I would canvass some views.

Yep, I'm the same mf from the other Skyline sites.

Thanks for the advice on a local bodyshop.

Cheers guys,

mf.

Hmmmm,

Im surprised Gary is unsure as he's pretty handy with SAFC's

I believe the SAFC2 has an option to change AFM size, like the PowerFC does, not sure about a Z31, but a Z32 should be there for sure.

It's a good job that I only have good things to say about them. They have been very helpful to me and I would recommended them to anyone who needs their Skyline or other Nissan cars tuned.

Also - if you do call Chris at H-tech 01603 485757- mention Ben plus Bigpower.

He's done work on 3 or 4 cars from here. He's really competitive and a bit of a perfectionist!.
