Tyre size / pressures

Post by pablo »

We have in the past only run 205/40/17 but are switching to 225/45/17. Would we be ok to just run the pressure settings that we have in the past or should we change the pressure settings. Just looking for an idea on where we should be starting.

If it was me I'd start with the same pressures and see how much the pressure builds after a session then adjust if needed.

Completely speculating here I would have thought with an increased contact patch and maybe slightly taller sidewall there would be a greater increase in temp so a slightly bigger pressure build up. If the sidewall is a touch taller the extra pressure might cancel out any movement in it.
