Lexus IS220 D Clutch assembly etc

Post by john B »

Ok folks need some help a good friend of mine his daughters car is as listed Lexus 2007
IS 220 Diesel.
The transmission has been making a clunking noise and the garage its at currently have said it needs a new dual mass flywheel and clutch assembly.
Ok fair enough if its all out and the flywheels needs replacing then of course replace everything however they are quoting stupid prices for the replacement parts etc....
So anyone got any good contacts for this type of stuff...

Any sensible suggestions would be appriciated.

Cheers

John

I know a lot of Mondeos and VAG stuff its cheaper to go for a single solid conversion than the Dual Mass Crap, not sure if its an option on a lexus.

Are there no aftermarket upgraded kits that are cheaper?

Apparently it's the same clutch on an Avensis 220D and cheaper.
