take it easy

Post by Bart »

last weekend i was round a gordons house (streetracers) and he told me about a mate of ours who had crashed his cossie.
he had just picked it up from gordons after we had done a load of work to the car, OMEX, coil pack, diff and a few fabrication parts that i had made for the car as well.
he was coming down the road as the heavens opened and the arse end of the car spun round hit a lampost and ended up in a ditch.
from the pic i sore of the car in the ditch it didnt look to bad but then he showed me the drivers side after it took 2 days to get the car back from the police.
this was one of the mintest cosworths out there.

dean is in hospital with a broken pelvis in 3 places and we have wished him our best in the recovery, he has started his rehab with getting back walking again.

Damage apart from what you can not see,
bent turbo
bent manifold
bent strutbrace
alternator snapped off
engine dropped about 3"s
rad, intercooler damaged
along with some other stuff

the drivers door is the only door on the car that opens.

the car has been put in gordons unit for now, so in couple weeks when im back over there im going to start stripping the car of all the bits that can be saved as he has already siad that when he comes out of hospital hes going to buy a new shell and turn it into a 4wd car.

ill take some pics of engine bay once im back over there to strip it.

morol of the story take it easy in the wet as i have been cought out with deisal/oil on the road with this crap weather.

Reminds me of Dan Booker's GTR. Glad that your man is alive, as that looks like quite a heavy knock.
