Nurburgring 24hr- Night and Day

Post by Stuart »

I saw this on the ClubGTi forum and have very kindly been given permission to use the footage here :)

I know a fair few of us have been over to the 'Ring and many more plan to do so in the future. One of the most feared sections of the track is Schwedenkreuz, a super fast left hander with a wicked crest. I remember watching countless videos before my first trip but none of them really captured just how scary it is and just how wrong you could get it if you back off the throttle, turn in late, apply the wrong correction.......... (insert your own nightmare here :) )

Chris Eyre, Jedi of all things GTi, took this footage and it impressed me for both it's sound quality and sensation of speed. To think that the top guys are going through here at over 160mph lap after lap in darkness :willy_nilly:

Staggering!

Bloody hell!

That corner was scary enough in the day at less than half that speed!!
James is looking for the next trackday...
