Credit cards

Post by pablo »

I noticed in a thread that someone mentioned a slight concern about having their card details fleeced, so I thought i post up what we do to avoid this.

Because we are always paying for things on line or over the phone and in the past I have had money go missing from my account, I decided to get a pre paid card which we now use solely for the car. It's not a credit card as you have to put money on the card before you spend, but everything we now buy or pay for relating to the car is done with this card and the best thing is, is that it is not linked to our bank accounts and as we only load it when we need to pay for something even if someone got hold of it's details there's bugger all on it:p

Just a thought.

Sound advice and i very much agree.

Since having money pinched via play.com as they keep account details i no longer use my current account card online. Luckily after a few months i got my money back but it wasn't easy.

So to avoid this now i have a seperate account, which i transfer money to when i want to make a purchase, that way there is never money sitting waiting to be taken by someone in Bangalor buying washing machines.

And people say that buying these days over the internet is safe!
